I offer no sympathy for that ...

Oh.My.God. I had the worst day today. As you might recall, I was drafted into house-sitting duty by my sister because the flooring guys were coming over to start ripping up the old carpet and installing the hardwood at their new place. Holy FUCK! Those contractors talk more than 12 year old girls. Bitch, bitch, bitch. I had planned on writing for the bulk of the day (getting part 3 of my multi-chapter epic done and possibly a good start of part 4) but the amount of noise that I was subjected to was INSANE! Hammers, saws, bitching ... you name it! Fuckers. Ruining a perfectly good writing plan.

The even suckier thing is that I have to be there tomorrow and possibly both Monday and Tuesday. My brain is going to explode.

I did get some reading done despite the distracting noise. I finished this last night ...
Book #23 - Frostbitten (Women of the Otherworld #10) by Kelley Armstrong - This book is Elena centric, which I love. Elena's been a favorite since the first book. Obviously, otherwise I probably wouldn't have kept reading the series. Elena and Clay head out to Alaska to help a mutt protect himself from a couple of man-eaters (yes, man-eaters. Werewolves who eat people. Gross.) and find themselves running smack-dab against an ancient legend of a shape-shifter who lives in the wilds. I really, really like the Otherworld universe and every book just draws me in farther and farther. Pairing this book up with The Darkest Powers books makes it even better. And since I've read the three books back to back (this one and the 1st 2 DP), I see that some things are brought up in both books and it's making me wonder if they're going to be addressed in book 3 of DP. I think I want to read the entire series from start to finish again.

I'm not sure if I should admit this, but I'm going to anyway ... I've read the 2 books in the Darkest Powers series twice since Saturday. Both of them. Twice. Why? I.Don't.Know. I just want to go back into that world. The third book better blow my freaking socks off or I'm going to be slightly disappointed. Slightly. No. I'm going to be a lot disappointed. But I don't think I will be. I mean, I haven't been disappointed with any of Kelley Armstrong's books yet. Why would this one be the exception?

I had a whole bunch more stuff to talk about. You know, my email spam. The short story I read last night (which I'm considering to be book #23.5). The fact that my darling boy comes home tomorrow. STUFF. But instead I'm going to go catch up on all the shows I haven't watched this week.

ETA: Is it freaky that moments after posting this review about man-eating werewolves roaming Alaska, this is one of the news stories that pops up on my Yahoo page? Yes. Yes, it is!

If we're counting short stories, I'm at 40.

I'm just sayin'....

Lol! I'm counting it as a half so it ultimately doesn't count in my overall year-end totals.

I can see I'm going to have to keep my eye on you.

Always, darling. Always.
