You didn't count on this monkey wrench!

Dude. jenah just called me on the fact that I didn't journal yesterday. How awesome is that? No, I didn't journal. I was ... lazy? That's not quite what it was, I just didn't have much to babble about and I put it off and suddenly it was 9:30 at night and I realized that I had to get up at 5:30 this morning to take my mom to the airport and posting a journal seemed to pale in comparison to sleeping. *blink* True story.

That said, jenah and her son are coming over for a visit today. I have nothing concrete planned. Possibly I will be making chili. It all depends on whether I make it up to the store to buy the ingredients. Chili sounds good though. And this recipe sounds absolutely delicious.

Let's take a moment to discuss NaNoWriMo and how far behind I am on my word count. I have just under 600 words written. To meet the goal I should have over 10,000 words written at this point. Maybe more. On one hand, I'm just thrilled that I have 600 words written on an original story. On the other hand, I'd love to hit the 50,000 word mark by the end of the month and have my novel bound like a book. I think that's the "prize" for completing your novel. Unless I read it wrong. Still, wouldn't that be awesome? A bound proof copy of your very own novel? *sigh* I have such love for the idea.

The point I'm trying to make here is that I don't expect that I'll hit that 50K word mark. But the idea of writing just to write is one that still tickles me. Writing a story that you're not going back and editing at all until it's finished. Love!

I have a few more things I want to get done before Jenn makes her way over. (Writing being one of them) I'm off. My pen and vacuum are calling to me. In that order. I'm pretty sure I won't address them in that order, but there you have it.
later!

a bound copy? really? i thought we just got a certificate that said we met the 50,000 goal?

From the NaNo blog ... If our tears aren't enough to get you noveling and you need another reason to set those sights set on 50K…For the third year running, our fantastic sponsor CreateSpace is offering all NaNoWriMo 2009 winners a free proof copy of your manuscript in paperback book form. They'll even cover basic postage! We've posted a quick overview in the forums, and we'll be putting up more details (along with the actual codes for winners) on the "I Wrote a Novel, Now What?" page on December 2.
