For real!

I have spent my time reading. This is what happens when you clear out your DVR.

Book #32 - Season of the Witch by Natasha Mostert - I don't know what to think about this book. I liked the idea behind it, but once I started reading it ... I don't know. It felt very self absorbed and overwrought. Full of itself. I didn't particularly like the characters until the big reveal at the end. And getting to that reveal was like pulling freaking teeth. The book was confusing and that was supposed to be a big part of the theme, but there's confusing and then there's confusing. There's endless prose showing the sisters seducing their target into their lives that could have been summed up without the mountains of vignettes. And the reveal about which sister is the killer? Umm, I knew who was writing the secret diary by the tone of the writing within the first 50 pages. And I never thought differently. There was never a point where I wondered if I was wrong. I did wonder at the motive for the killing, but never who had done it. *sigh* I want a good "kick you upside the head" book now. Please? Thank you.

I'm off to watch the season finale of Dollhouse. Does anyone else think that Alan Tudyk looked HOT in that tight shirt in last week's episode? He's a lot more cut that I thought he was. Yum. Plus, that guy can grovel hilariously well. LOVE!

PS, I've really been liking the last few episodes of Fringe. Is it me or has Anna Torv's "acting" improved? Also, she doesn't look quite as a bland as she did in earlier episodes. She has a little sparkle in her eye and some bounce in that flat hair. I can say that because my hair is flat. Sometimes bouncy, but mostly not. Except lately it's been looking decent. But that's another story for another day.
