Book #52 - Shakespeare's Landlord (Lily Bard Mystery, Book 1) by Charlaine Harris - I'm having a tough time with this one. I don't think I liked it. The main character wasn't very likeable - she was just too damn HARD to be someone I don't mind spending a few hours with. Plus, this book felt like an early book. You know, the one where the author is still trying to find her literary voice and it's just really spare around the edges. And down the middle. Basically, I wasn't thrilled with pretty much everything in it. Now, I will say that I adore Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse series, so her writing has definitely improved with time. I feel like I'm really capping on this book. I'm going to stop now. Lily is a lady with a secret who happens to stumble over a dead body. Now she has to figure out who killed the guy before ... I don't know. Before something.

I ate something for lunch today and was violently nauseous about 30 minutes later. Coincidence? I think not. "Violently nauseous" means pretty certain you're going to throw up on someone's shoes even though you don't actually do it. I feel better now.

Cole and Hailey are playing Lego Indy. I may have to steal the TV for a bit. I can hear oddmonster's big sigh of relief that I'm taking a (slight) break from my crazy book reading.

Indy! The torch is going out!

I'm good with your reading. At this point I am merely a speck in your rearview book-mirror.
